Designed by Raymond Waites, a well-known American designer, Vintage Furniture is beautifully handcrafted aluminium furniture, finished with a remarkable and exclusive tortoise shell effect. Vintage Weathercraft is constructed from extruded and cold drawn aluminium tubing, 30% stronger than conventional tube. All frames are full-circumference welded to ensure maximum strength, with all the exposed welds being hand ground to super smoothness, then chemically cleaned, etched and sealed in a five stage process. Polyester powder paint is applied electro-statically to provide a beautiful and long-lasting finish that is resistant to chipping, peeling or scratching. This process of finishing aluminium to look like natural rattan is both stunning and durable. The frames have been fashioned into a faux bamboo look, with wrapped wire, to simulate customary rattan bindings. This unique tortoise finish is hand applied before final powder coating. Subtle golden highlights appear on cast acanthus leaves, featured at the end of each curve. All models are made to the highest standards and are equally suitable for the conservatory or garden and are strong enough to provide many years of exemplary service. Vintage Weathercraft uses outdoor fabrics supplied by the most prestigious fabric manufacturers in the USA. The upholstery on this range consists of a double wall tailored sling material, and is available in two colours. The fabrics are a combination of PVC coated polyester and solution dyed acrylic yarns. They have the durability and strength of PVC with the vivid hues and soft feel of a solution dyed acrylic. The fabrics are woven to create attractive jacquard patterns and are both colourful and stain resistant. The sling seating has been specially engineered so that no edges are visible. Everything is meticulously finished. Glass tops are manufactured from tempered glass to ensure strength and safety. They are supplied complete with the table, but separate for transporting, and require some simple fitting into the table rims. Vintage Weathercraft requires very little maintenance. To maintain the life and beauty of the furniture, simply wash and rinse with a solution of warm water and mild soap. When stored outside in the winter in freezing temperatures, any water should be drained off to avoid ice damage in the tubing.
